Having grown up on the Black Isle in the Scottish Highlands Aimee Coulshed has been heavily influenced by the ever-changing environment she has been surrounded by. The fluctuating light and landscape found there provide the basis of her creative inspiration. She embraces the natural qualities and textures of materials to create artwork that evokes a sense of calm, comfort and contemplation.

In 2019, Aimee graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design with a B(Des) Hons in Textile Design. She then went on to exhibit at New Designers in London where she received the ‘Romo Award for Inovation in Design and Colour’ as well as a ‘One to Watch’ Colour in Design Award. She has since been developing her own creative practice while participating in a variety of exhibitions with the likes of Edge Textile Artists, VAS Scotland, Alchemist Gallery and Leith Makers.

Now based in Edinburgh, she hopes that, through interpreting the Scottish landscape and weather, she can inspire people to engage with their natural surroundings, helping to put daily concerns into perspective and bring a sense of mindfulness into everyday life.
